Mr. Heerad Sabeti has been working for 20 years to develop a fourth sector of organizations at the intersection of the public, private and nonprofit sectors. The fourth sector is comprised of for-benefit enterprises that are designed to seamlessly integrate public purposes with business means, harnessing entrepreneurial energy to shape a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient economy.

Mr. Sabeti is devoted to pursuing systemic solutions to complex social, environmental and economic challenges. He is the author of the captivating Harvard Business Review article, “The For-Benefit Enterprise” (November 2011).

To accelerate the fourth sector’s development, he has been a driving force behind numerous national and international initiatives. He advises governments, corporations and NGOs on multi-sector collaboration, sustainable economic development, and market-based solutions to societal challenges.

Mr. Sabeti will speak about his passion and his expertise in USM-Portland’s Glickman Library 7th floor Events Room. Complimentary refreshments provided by L.L. Bean will follow. Free and open to the public, but please register here beforehand.
