How do I set up a button on my home screen for easy access to the mobile edition?

screenshot_7Note: If you are using an iphone, we recommend using the Safari browser with the app. This enables you to save the app’s icon to your home screen for easy access.

After you have logged into the app, follow the instructions for your phone type below:

iOS with Safari browser: From the app’s home screen/category page, tap the share button (box with an up-facing arrow) at the bottom of your screen, select “Add to Home Screen,” and then tap “Add” when the “Add to Home Screen” window appears.

iOS with Google Chrome: There is no way to save a home screen button from Chrome when using iOS. However, you can bookmark the app site from within the Chrome browser by opening the Chrome menu, tapping the Bookmark star icon at the top of the menu, editing the bookmark’s name or URL (if necessary), choosing a folder or creating a new one (optional), and clicking save.

Android with Firefox browser: From the app’s home screen/category page, tap the menu button (3 vertical dots) in the app or the hardware menu button (different icon on different devices). Click on “Page” and then “Add to Home Screen.”

Android with Google Chrome: From the app’s home screen/category page, tap the menu button (3 Vertical Dots) in the app or the hardware menu button (different icon on different devices). Tap the “Add to Home Screen” option and tap “Add.”

Do I need to log in every time?

Nope! The next time you log in, be sure to check the “Remember Me” box. This way, your phone will remember your user name and password, so you don’t have to.

Is there a way to save coupons to redeem later, so I don’t have to search for them every time?

Yes! That’s what the Favorites list is for. If there’s a coupon you want to save to use at a later date, tap the heart in the top left corner of the coupon screen. The heart will turn from light blue to red when you tap it. Once it’s red, you can find that offer in your Favorites list (which is accessible from the home screen). To remove an offer from your Favorites list, just tap the heart so it turns blue again.

Can I share my mobile edition with my spouse or a friend, or use it on more than one device?

Sure! To share your mobile edition with a friend, just give them your username and password and they’ll be able to log in on their device. However, the coupons can only be redeemed once per account – if your friend redeems a coupon, it will no longer be available for you to use.

Why does the app keep asking me to share my location?

The app is designed to deliver the coupons in order of what is closest to you at the time that you are viewing it. You are asked to share your location to activate this feature. However, you do not need to share your location to use the app. If you choose not to share your location, the coupons will be listed alphabetically, rather than ordered by location. If you have said “no” to location sharing and then you decide that you’d like to access the location-based features, you can turn it on again by going to your settings/privacy and enabling “Location Services.” Once the “Location Services” has been set to on, click the Location Services and navigate to the Safari or other browser settings. Be sure that “While using the app” is checked.

How will I know when new coupons are added throughout the year?

There will be a notification every time a new coupon offer has been added to the mobile edition. Notifications can be found by clicking on the menu icon in the top right corner of the home screen – there will be a red notification badge if you have unread messages.

How do I find coupons in the mobile edition?

There are four ways to find coupons in the mobile edition:

  1. BY CATEGORY: The home screen of the app is a list of categories (EAT, HOME, HEALTH, EXPLORE, KIDS, SHOP) – click on any category and those types of offers will be listed in order of proximity to your current location (closest to farthest).
  2. NEAR ME: Click on “Near Me” at the top of the home screen, and a map view will appear based on your current location. There will be location markers and a list of all the coupons (across all categories) below the map that are being offered near your location. You can also zoom in and out and move the map, if you’d like to see what coupons are offered further away from you.
  3. BY GEOGRAPHIC REGION: Click on the menu button in the top right corner of the screen, then click “Regional Index.” Click on any region and you will see a list of all businesses in that area. Click on a business listing to see all of the coupons they are offering.
  4. MANUAL SEARCH: Click on the menu button in the top right corner of the screen, and you’ll see a Search field. If you are looking for a specific business that you know is in the mobile edition, you can enter the business name, click “Apply,” and the business’ description and contact information, and any coupon offer(s) will be listed. You can also search by keyword to see all coupons related to a specific subject – e.g., enter “dog” in the search field to find all offers for your pet.

What do I do if I accidentally redeem a coupon?

When you tap the “REDEEM” button on a coupon offer, a window will pop up asking if you’re sure you want to redeem the coupon. Clicking “no” will return you to the coupon page, and clicking “yes” will redeem the offer. Once you click “yes” and redeem the offer, there’s no way to undo the redemption.

Why are some of my coupon offers crossed out?

After you’ve redeemed a coupon, that offer will be crossed out when it appears in your search results lists. That way, you can still see which businesses are near you…even if you’ve already enjoyed their offer. And you can also access other information about the business, such as the phone or social media pages.

Do I need to log out of the app after every time I use it?

No, you don’t need to log out every time you use the app. You will remain logged into the mobile edition until you log out – so you can access your offers quickly and easily anytime! If you do want to log out at any point, tap the menu screen (icon in the top right corner of your app) and a blue window of menu options will appear – scroll down to the bottom, and tap “Logout.” You will need your username and password to log back in next time.
