April Vacation Camp at Maine Audubon
Maine Audubon Gilsland Farm Center
For children in grades 1-5, a new theme will be introduced each day through cooperative games, creative arts and exploration at the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth.
Programs are held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Campers may sign up for individual days or attend the entire week.
Monday, April 15
Small Wonders: Life would not be possible without amazing little creatures like insects, salamanders, bees, and ants. Have a greater understanding for these tiny creatures by exploring the forest floor, making crafts and playing insect games.
Tuesday, April 16
Feathered Friends: Learn about the changing lives of birds in the spring season by birdwatching in three different habitats, playing active bird games, learning how to identify birds, use binoculars, and creating nests out of natural materials.
Wednesday, April 17
Feast On This! April is a time for beautiful changes and hungry animals looking for a snack. Investigate the drama between predators and their prey with animal behavior games and adventures around the sanctuary.
Thursday, April 18
Junior Naturalists: Learn the basic skills of a junior naturalist like how to identify trees, birds, and insects. Play games and do an art project that will foster a new level nature appreciation and enjoyment.
Friday, April 19
Earth Day Celebration: Join us in celebrating Earth Day with games, recycled crafts, leave-no-trace hikes, and habitat investigations how we can both love and care for the natural world.
