Did you go overboard planting tomatoes this season? Is your neighbor leaving a daily zucchini “gifts” at your door? Capture wonderful fall-harvested tomatoes cukes, beans, zucchini, pumpkins and more by learning to preserve them. Join UMaine Extension master food preservers and learn the basics of preserving fruits and vegetables. Get hands-on practice learning to safely preserve using the hot water bath method, a technique that’s used to preserve many other fruits and vegetables. Cost includes how-to-preserve packet, recipes and a jar of preserves. Please bring potholder to class.
